The Senior Executive Compensation Analyst supports the design, administration, governance, and disclosure of ITW’s executive compensation programs. This role serves as a key analytical and operational partner to senior compensation leadership and collaborates closely with Legal, Finance, Tax, Payroll, Treasury, HRIS, and external advisors. The role is primarily focused on executive and equity compensation, with exposure to Compensation Committee support, proxy disclosure, long-term incentive administration, and non-qualified deferred compensation, while maintaining strong analytical and execution responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Executive & Equity Compensation Support
Support the administration of executive compensation programs, including annual incentive, long-term incentive, equity awards, and executive retirement and deferred compensation plans.
Prepare and audit equity grant, vesting, dividend, and settlement files in coordination with third-party equity administrators and internal stakeholders.
Assist in developing compensation recommendations for executive promotions, internal moves, and external hires.
Compensation Committee & Governance Support
Assist in the preparation of materials for the Board of Directors’ Compensation Committee, including analytical exhibits, benchmarking, and supporting documentation.
Support the preparation of executive compensation disclosures, including data gathering, validation, and drafting support for the CD&A, Summary Compensation Table, and related proxy disclosures.
Assist with CEO Pay Ratio data collection, analysis, and documentation.
Market Analysis & Benchmarking
Participate in executive compensation market surveys and assist with benchmarking analyses to assess competitiveness and inform compensation decisions.
Conduct ad-hoc market pricing and pay analysis using survey data and internal compensation structures.
Non-qualified Deferred Compensation & Executive Benefits
Support administration of executive nonqualified deferred compensation plans, including file preparation, payroll coordination, participant inquiries, and annual enrollment processes.
Assist with executive benefits–related analysis and communications, as needed.
Planning, Systems & Analytics
Support annual compensation planning cycles through data audits, system testing, report generation, and participant communications.
Perform detailed compensation analyses, identify trends or anomalies, and ensure data accuracy across multiple systems and reporting outputs.
Maintain documentation, tools, and reference materials related to executive compensation programs.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Legal, Finance, Tax, Accounting, Payroll, Treasury, HRIS, and external consultants to support compliance with tax, accounting, and disclosure requirements.
Respond to executive and HR stakeholder inquiries with a high degree of professionalism, accuracy, and discretion.
Support the broad-based compensation team on an as-needed basis.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field is required
4–6 years of progressive experience in compensation, with increasing focus on executive and/or equity compensation.
Ability to work onsite at the Glenview corporate campus 5 days a week, with flexibility in hours.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to work with complex compensation datasets.
Advanced Excel proficiency (e.g., pivot tables, formulas, lookups); experience with compensation or equity systems strongly preferred.
Working knowledge of executive compensation concepts, including equity compensation, incentive plans, and proxy disclosure requirements.
Working knowledge of broad-based compensation concepts, including pay structure development, job evaluation, market pay benchmarking, geographic differentials, along with participation in various salary surveys and developing pay increase recommendations.

Compensation Information:
The compensation package for the role offers a competitive base salary ranging from $90k- $125k annually. This position is eligible to participate in the annual incentive plan.

The Total Rewards Administrator supports a wide range of administrative and operational functions within the Total Rewards department.
