What You'll Do as Compensation Analyst:

  • Prepares and maintains job descriptions for each position in the organization; ensures descriptions accurately reflect the work being performed by incumbents.
  • Interviews and surveys employees and managers to gather and document job, organizational, and occupational information including duties, responsibilities, and skills required by each job.
  • Assesses jobs and their respective duties to determine classification as exempt or nonexempt and appropriate salary range.
  • Benchmarks jobs against survey data and other market intelligence to determine competitive compensation ranges for each position.

What do we do?

A&M's Compensation and Benefits (CAB) Tax team is comprised of seasoned tax professionals experienced in providing practical tax advice to corporate and private equity buyers throughout the transaction lifecycle. By utilizing an integrated approach with A&M professionals with deep operating and financial-related experience, the team uses a focused and tailored approach to rapidly identify and understand potential deal breakers, value drivers and other areas of specific interest to our clients. Our CAB transaction tax services include:

  • Performing tax due diligence, including reviewing targets historic tax profile, planning, tax examinations, acquisitions/dispositions, and filing history to assess potential risks and opportunities
  • Using the due diligence process to identify opportunities for further tax efficiencies
  • Structuring transactions in a tax-efficient manner, including equity rollovers and deferrals
  • Reviewing and evaluating significant tax attributes, credits and incentives
  • Reviewing and commenting on purchase agreements and disclosure schedules
  • Evaluating potential acquisition structures
  • Modeling transaction scenarios
  • Identifying matters to be addressed post-closing, including integration related risks and opportunities


How You'll Contribute

  • Develop and deliver quality tax planning approaches by providing timely and responsive services and work product that meets and/or exceeds client expectations;
  • Perform compensation due diligence, including review of equity agreements, CIC plans and golden parachute calculations, deferred compensation plans, tax returns, financials, and other documentation to evaluate potential tax risks and opportunities;
  • Perform benefits due diligence, including review of retirement plans, Section 125 plans, discrimination testing, Forms 5500, and determination letters for compliance with IRS and DOL requirements to help identify potential tax exposures and opportunities;
  • Review payroll tax treatment and withholding policies and practices, including accurate reporting (W-2, K-1, 1099, etc.), withholding on income tax and FICA on various forms of compensation, and worker classification.
  • Review and comment on compensation and benefits aspects of financial models, purchase agreements, and structuring calculations;
  • Take ownership of assigned workstreams, including creating and preserving relevant diligence work products, ensuring supervisors can timely review and provide constructive feedback of deliverables, and otherwise proactively responding to changes in workflow;
  • Coordinate with federal, state and local, and international tax team members, as well as financial and operational due diligence team members, to timely deliver highest quality integrated work product;
  • Begin developing and taking responsibility for managing client relationships by communicating and responding to client expectations, gathering data relevant to the engagement, and tailoring project deliverables accordingly.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated knowledge of compensation and benefits tax concepts, including Sections 83, 409A, and 280G, with the capability to perform research on and effectively apply compensation and benefits tax knowledge to client situations;

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Compensation Analyst with strong operational and analytical skills to support our Compensation team. The ideal candidate will build strong relationships with HR Business Partners and Managers through a proactive, consultative, and collaborative approach. This role involves providing guidance on compensation programs, offering input to improve these programs, and supporting the annual Rewards Planning process.

Key Responsibilities:

Compensation Program Support: Provide ongoing support and guidance to HR Business Partners and Managers throughout the year on compensation programs and the annual Rewards Planning process.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with recruiters, Business Partners, global mobility teams, and other compensation team members to address compensation-related business challenges.

Program Improvement: Offer input to compensation program owners to enhance and align compensation programs with business needs.

Talent Acquisition Support: Respond to offer inquiries from the Talent Acquisition team as needed, ensuring competitive and fair compensation packages.

This role encourages a constructive dialogue amongst Global Human Resources and other business functions in the alignment of global compensation programs with business objectives, as well as to support the implementation, administration and management of concentrated tools and processes.This role is responsible for supporting and at times leading the design, development, analysis, and administration of global compensation programs, policies, and procedures; working closely with Human Resources staff on determining classifications and pay levels for positions; ensures country/state/local, collective bargaining and work council regulatory laws and rule compliance, internal equity and external competitiveness; participating in key compensation cycles, studies, and projects; creates reports and maintains data to monitor global compensation activity; and participates in various global salary surveys and other data exchanges to support compensation analyses.   • Support and lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of global compensation structures for all countries.
  • Provides support and lead administration of global compensation programs, including annual compensation program review; annual salary review process; benchmarking of roles; maintaining and updating position descriptions.

  • Prepare total compensation recommendations.
  • Conduct research, analysis and recommendations for new and revised plans and programs that are cost effective and consistent with compensation trends and align with objectives.
  • Perform job evaluations, market job pricing, internal equity analyses, impact analysis, and plan effectiveness analyses. Conducts, participates in, and analyzes compensation surveys to ensure compensation objectives are achieved.
  • Conducts analyses related to cost and trends and providing analytical data management support for measurement and tracking of key compensation metrics. Develop techniques for compiling, preparing, and presenting data to management.
  • Support the annual salary budget process, providing country and associate group merit increases and promotion.
  • Support the design and administration of short and long-term incentive plans.
  • Document processes and ensure standardization and automation where possible.
  • Provide support to simplify and ensure operational excellence in the execution of global Total Rewards programs.
  • Provide support with job offers, finance accruals, internal equity reviews, severances/separations, and reorganizations.

What do we do?

A&M's Compensation and Benefits (CAB) Tax team is comprised of seasoned tax professionals experienced in providing practical tax advice to corporate and private equity buyers throughout the transaction lifecycle. By utilizing an integrated approach with A&M professionals with deep operating and financial-related experience, the team uses a focused and tailored approach to rapidly identify and understand potential deal breakers, value drivers and other areas of specific interest to our clients. Our CAB transaction tax services include:

  • Performing tax due diligence, including reviewing targets historic tax profile, planning, tax examinations, acquisitions/dispositions, and filing history to assess potential risks and opportunities
  • Using the due diligence process to identify opportunities for further tax efficiencies
  • Structuring transactions in a tax-efficient manner, including equity rollovers and deferrals
  • Reviewing and evaluating significant tax attributes, credits and incentives
  • Reviewing and commenting on purchase agreements and disclosure schedules
  • Evaluating potential acquisition structures
  • Modeling transaction scenarios
  • Identifying matters to be addressed post-closing, including integration related risks and opportunities


How You'll Contribute

  • Develop and deliver quality tax planning approaches by providing timely and responsive services and work product that meets and/or exceeds client expectations;
  • Perform compensation due diligence, including review of equity agreements, CIC plans and golden parachute calculations, deferred compensation plans, tax returns, financials, and other documentation to evaluate potential tax risks and opportunities;
  • Perform benefits due diligence, including review of retirement plans, Section 125 plans, discrimination testing, Forms 5500, and determination letters for compliance with IRS and DOL requirements to help identify potential tax exposures and opportunities;
  • Review payroll tax treatment and withholding policies and practices, including accurate reporting (W-2, K-1, 1099, etc.), withholding on income tax and FICA on various forms of compensation, and worker classification.
  • Review and comment on compensation and benefits aspects of financial models, purchase agreements, and structuring calculations;
  • Take ownership of assigned workstreams, including creating and preserving relevant diligence work products, ensuring supervisors can timely review and provide constructive feedback of deliverables, and otherwise proactively responding to changes in workflow;
  • Coordinate with federal, state and local, and international tax team members, as well as financial and operational due diligence team members, to timely deliver highest quality integrated work product;
  • Begin developing and taking responsibility for managing client relationships by communicating and responding to client expectations, gathering data relevant to the engagement, and tailoring project deliverables accordingly.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated knowledge of compensation and benefits tax concepts, including Sections 83, 409A, and 280G, with the capability to perform research on and effectively apply compensation and benefits tax knowledge to client situations;
  • Understanding of compensation and benefits issues for various entity structures, including public and private corporations, partnerships, S-Corps, and consolidated groups;
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or related field required;
  • Advanced Degree / Certification preferred: CPA, JD, or LLM;
  • 2-5 years of compensation and benefits tax experience; or 2-5 years of tax due diligence experience;
  • Prior experience with Mergers and Acquisitions preferred;
  • Strong writing, analytical, research and organizational skills;
  • Experience with all Microsoft Office products (with an emphasis on Excel)

Compensation Statement:
