Boston University Information Services & Technology (IS&T) is seeking applicants with diverse skills and experiences to join our innovative and inclusive community. Join us as an Security Analyst II where you will be responsible for responding to cyber security events at the university. You will assist with analyzing data from a myriad of data sources including Security Incident and Event Management systems, Endpoint Protection Platforms, Firewalls, Vulnerability scanners, and Intrusion Prevention & Detection Systems to detect and respond to potential security incidents or vulnerabilities. As part of the Cyber Security Operations Center (SOC) you will report to the Assistant Director of Security Operations and work with Information Security team at the Charles River Campus. Upon successful completion of your first 90 days of service with the University, you will become eligible to participate in the University's Hybrid work program.<\/p>

You will:<\/p>

• Monitor, analyze, and process security events to identify and protect university assets.<\/p><\/li>

• Help process results from vulnerability scans to help mitigate risk.<\/p><\/li>

• Assist with maintaining security procedures to ensure they remains current.<\/p><\/li>

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate security risks.<\/p><\/li>

• Take part in an on call duty cycle, monitoring tools and providing 24x7 availability to respond to security events when needed. <\/p><\/li><\/ul>

  Required Skills<\/strong><\/p>

  You have:<\/p>

  • Demonstrated interest and 2 or more years of experience in the cyber security field.<\/p><\/li>

  • Familiarity with one or more security tools such as information and event management (SIEM) systems, vulnerability scanners, end point protection software, firewalls.<\/p><\/li>

  • Knowledge of network protocols, operating systems, and security technologies.<\/p><\/li>

        The SOC (Security Operations Center) Security Analyst will be assigned to furthering the security mission within the client's Regional Security Operations Center (RSOC) and Global Security Operations Center (GSOC). The SOC Security Analyst is responsible for delivering operations within the GPS control room across all client sites in the respective region. They will work with the client's leadership to ensure operational best practice to ensure the physical safety and security of our people, buildings, and assets.<\/p>

        Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>

        • Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out safety and security procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities<\/p><\/li>

        • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem solving manner<\/p><\/li>

          Minimum Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>

          • Must possess a minimum of two (2) years of security operations experience or previous experience working in a Global Security, Command, or similar 24x7 operations center environment<\/p><\/li>

          • Must possess experience in basic security analysis, problem solving, handling preliminary inquiries, incident assessment, and triaging reports<\/p><\/li>

          • High proficiency in using IT applications, data entry and retrieval, and keyboard skills to a speed of at least 25wpm with at least 75% accuracy<\/p><\/li>

          • Basic knowledge of some technical elements associated with security systems such as IP networks, servers, LAN\/WAN<\/p><\/li>

          • Basic working knowledge of data protection policies such as GDPR and the need to keep sensitive information secure<\/p><\/li>

          • Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond to incidents, particularly in emergencies, in a professional, resilient and timely manner with minimal supervision where appropriate<\/p><\/li>

          • Evidence of continuous professional development (CPD)<\/p><\/li>

          • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, successfully handle and prioritize multiple competing assignments and effectively manage deadlines.<\/p><\/li>

                                                  We are seeking a Senior Security Testing Analyst to support and strengthen State Street\u2019s intelligence\u2011led security testing and assurance activities. This role is ideal for a cybersecurity professional who brings a strong threat mindset, experience across security disciplines, and the ability to translate complex testing results into actionable insights. The analyst will work closely with internal and external testing teams, technology stakeholders, and business partners to ensure security testing outcomes meaningfully reduce risk, meet regulatory expectations, and drive informed decision\u2011making across the enterprise.<\/p>

                                                  What you will be responsible for<\/b><\/p>

                                                  As a Senior Security Testing Analyst you will<\/p>

                                                  • Support the planning, execution, and analysis of regulatory and internal security testing activities<\/li>
                                                  • Analyze unique testing requirements, design practical solutions, coordinate with stakeholders, and manage execution risks<\/li>
                                                  • Evaluate testing outcomes with a strong \u201cthreat mindset,\u201d applying knowledge of adversary behavior, security controls, and architectural considerations<\/li>
                                                  • Develop insights and outputs that drive action by technology teams and business units<\/li>
                                                  • Coordinate with internal and external security testing teams to support finding owners through analysis, remediation planning, and validation testing to confirm effective risk mitigation<\/li><\/ul>

                                                    • A collaborative team player with foundational cybersecurity knowledge and the ability to work across organizational boundaries to deliver meaningful outcomes<\/li>
                                                    • Prior experience in one or more cybersecurity disciplines, such as security operations, incident response, detection engineering, cyber threat intelligence, or penetration testing<\/li>
                                                    • Familiarity with threat\u2011led penetration testing concepts (preferred but not required)<\/li>
                                                    • Technical fluency with adversary tactics and frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK<\/li>
                                                    • Strong technical project management skills and a demonstrated ability to own issues end\u2011to\u2011end<\/li>
                                                    • Financial services or regulated industry experience is preferred but not required<\/li><\/ul>

                                                      Education & Preferred Qualifications<\/b><\/p>

                                                      • At least 4 years of experience in operational cybersecurity roles<\/li>
                                                      • Demonstrated experience with technical project management and issue ownership<\/li>
                                                      • Background spanning security operations, incident response, detection engineering, threat intelligence, or penetration testing<\/li>
                                                      • Experience with threat\u2011led penetration testing preferred but not required<\/li>
                                                      • Advanced degree in information systems, data science, or a related field is desired but not required<\/li>
                                                      • Relevant cybersecurity certifications are a plus but not required<\/li><\/ul>

                                                        Salary Range: <\/b><\/p>$120,000 - $202,500 Annual

                                                        The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.<\/span><\/p>
