As a member of the Decision Support team, the Data Analyst plays an important role by overseeing data flows to ensure the functionality of dashboards\/ongoing reporting; leads supplemental data collection processes such as student outcome data tracking; collects, organizes, cleans, and analyzes data sets; develops improved processes for working with ongoing data sets; supports ongoing research and business intelligence activities of the decision support unit; and engages in ad hoc data requests as needed. Reporting to the Associate Director, Business Intelligence, the Data Analyst also works closely with the Business Intelligence Analyst and other members of the Decision Support Team.<\/p>

Required Skills<\/strong><\/p>

B.A.\/B.S., Two years of relevant experience. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and experience working with data and analysis of data is required. Familiarity with PowerBI, Salesforce, and additional data analysis software is helpful. This position requires exceptional attention to detail and comfort in working with large data sets. Position requires clear communication skills and a proactive approach to identify and solve data concerns.<\/p>

Position Summary:<\/strong><\/p>

The Financial Risk and Data Analyst plays a key role in supporting the Bank\u2019s Allowance for Credit Losses (ACL) process under CECL (ASC 326) while also contributing to broader financial reporting, accounting, and regulatory reporting functions. This role is ideal for a versatile accounting\/finance professional who can balance technical CECL responsibilities with hands-on involvement in the monthly close, financial reporting, and regulatory filings typical of a community banking environment.<\/p>

This position partners closely with Accounting, Credit, Treasury, and Risk to ensure accurate, timely, and well-controlled financial reporting.<\/p>

Key Result Areas<\/strong> :<\/strong><\/p>

\u00b7 CECL & Credit Loss Analysis<\/p>

o Support the preparation and ongoing maintenance of the Bank\u2019s CECL model and ACL calculation.<\/p>

o Prepare loan portfolio segmentation, qualitative factor analysis, and incorporation of economic forecasts.<\/p>

o Perform variance analysis on ACL results, including period-over-period changes and forecast vs. actual comparisons.<\/p>

o Maintain CECL documentation, assumptions, and methodology in alignment with audit and regulatory expectations.<\/p>

o Partner with Credit and Risk teams to incorporate portfolio trends and credit quality indicators into loss estimates.<\/p>

\u00b7 Financial Reporting & Close Support<\/p>

o Assist with the monthly and quarterly close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.<\/p>

o Prepare and review financial statement components and internal management reports.<\/p>

o Support Call Report preparation and other regulatory filings.<\/p>

o Contribute to preparation of audited financial statements and footnote disclosures, including ACL-related disclosures.<\/p>

o Analyze financial results and provide insights into key drivers of performance.<\/p>

\u00b7 Data, Controls & Process Improvement<\/p>

o Extract, validate, and reconcile loan and financial data used in CECL and reporting processes.<\/p>

o Assist in maintaining strong internal controls over financial reporting, including documentation and testing support<\/p>

o Identify opportunities to automate or streamline reporting and CECL processes.<\/p>

o Support data governance and integrity initiatives in partnership with IT and Finance.<\/p>

\u00b7 Cross-Functional Collaboration<\/p>

o Maintain accurate loan files and system records, including decisions and condition tracking throughout the loan lifecycle.<\/p>

o Work closely with Accounting\/Finance leadership on reporting deliverables and special projects.<\/p>

o Collaborate with Lending and Credit teams to understand portfolio activity and emerging risks.<\/p>

o Support external audits, internal audits, and regulatory exams by preparing schedules and responding to requests.<\/p>

o Provide ad hoc financial analysis as needed.<\/p>

Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>

\u00b7 Bachelor\u2019s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.<\/p>

\u00b7 2\u20135 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, banking, or credit analysis.<\/p>

\u00b7 Experience in a bank or financial institution strongly preferred (community bank experience a plus).<\/p>

\u00b7 Working knowledge of CECL (ASC 326) or strong willingness to learn.<\/p>

\u00b7 Solid understanding of financial statements and accounting principles (U.S. GAAP).<\/p>

\u00b7 Advanced Excel skills (data analysis, pivot tables, modeling).<\/p>

\u00b7 Experience with banking systems, general ledger platforms, and\/or CECL software a plus.<\/p>
