Boston University Information Services & Technology (IS&T) is seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Data Analyst II to support the university's research administration systems. In this role, you will help migrate IRB and Grants & Agreements from BUs legacy Kuali platform to the Huron Research Suite, ensuring data integrity throughout the transition. The position involves data migration, designing and maintaining system integrations, and providing functional support to ensure reliable operations across research administration modules already in use, including IACUC, AOps, and COI. As a Research Data Analyst, you will play a hands-on technical role with increasing intellectual ownership in building, querying, and analyzing large-scale clinical datasets using Snowflake, SQL, and Python, supporting the development, evaluation, and deployment of machine learning models for conference submissions and peer-reviewed manuscripts within one of the nation\u2019s largest healthcare environments. You will work closely with clinicians, data scientists, PhD students, and engineers to translate complex clinical questions into scalable computational pipelines and research outputs.<\/p>

Data Engineering & Analytics<\/b><\/p>- Querying and managing large-scale clinical datasets using Snowflake and SQL<\/b><\/li>
- Building reproducible data pipelines using Python <\/b>and related tools (e.g., Pandas, NumPy)<\/b><\/li>
- Performing data cleaning, validation, quality control, and documentation<\/li>
- Organizing multimodal datasets (EMR, imaging-derived variables, clinical outcomes)<\/li><\/ul>
Machine Learning & Modeling<\/b><\/p>- Supporting and leading development, refinement, and evaluation of machine learning models<\/li>
- Debugging and optimizing analytical workflows in collaboration with MIT data scientists<\/li>
- Conducting exploratory data analysis and feature engineering<\/li><\/ul>
Research & Reporting<\/b><\/p>- Analyzing quantitative and qualitative data<\/li>
- Generating figures, tables, and summary reports for internal reviews and publications<\/li>

Qualifications<\/b><\/p>
Required<\/b><\/p>- Bachelor\u2019s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related field<\/b><\/li>
- Strong working knowledge of SQL<\/b> and experience querying large relational databases<\/li>
- Proficiency in Python<\/b> for data analysis and machine learning workflows (e.g., PyTorch, Pandas, NumPy)<\/li>
- Comfort working with complex, real-world datasets<\/li><\/ul>
Preferred<\/b><\/p>- Prior experience querying and managing data in Snowflake or comparable cloud-native, distributed analytics platforms<\/li>
