GovCIO is currently hiring for a Databricks Data Engineer \/ Training Instructor to support our client's contract needs on a FEMA Office of Environmental Planning and Historic Preservation (OEHP) data engineering skills modernization program. This is a Key Personnel position (one of two required Databricks Data Engineer positions under the contract). This position is located in the Washington, DC metro area and will be a hybrid remote position; all training delivery is conducted virtually via Microsoft Teams, with instructor access to DHS systems required. This position is location within the United Staes and is fully remote.<\/p>

Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>

• Serve as a Key Personnel Databricks Data Engineer\/instructor delivering a customized training and bootcamp program to up to 20 FEMA-OEHP staff already proficient in Databricks.<\/p><\/li>

• Collaborate with FEMA-OEHP stakeholders during a 2-month pre-planning phase to finalize curriculum, project goals, and integration requirements.<\/p><\/li>

• Develop and administer a self-administered, ~25-question initial skills assessment, and tailor tutoring and curriculum depth to individual results.<\/p><\/li>

• Deliver weekly virtual training curriculum mapped to project milestones and integration tasks, using DHS\/EHP datasets and real-world data where appropriate.<\/p><\/li>

                                        • System Design and Ownership Lead the design, development, and lifecycle engineering of advanced Instrumentation, Data, and Controls systems, automated controls, and Human-Machine Interface (HMI) software. Generate, review, and approve concept layouts, design drawings, and technical data utilizing advanced CAD\/CAE tools <\/li>
                                        • Mission-Critical Test Operations Drive active ground test operations, lead ID&C system integration, real-time troubleshooting, and rapid return to service. Develop and execute rigorous verification and validation test plans to ensure robust system reliability and peak performance. <\/li>
                                        • Engineering & Analysis Translate high-level operational concepts into definitive system requirements, specifications, and design calculations. Conduct complex engineering studies, evaluate standard methodologies, and establish robust work processes. <\/li>
                                        • Vendor & Project Leadership--- Manage technical interfaces with subcontractors and equipment manufacturers, performing rigorous reviews of complex design documents and providing authoritative recommendations. Own and drive work schedules to guarantee on-time mission delivery. <\/li>
                                        • Team Mentorship As appropriate, mentor and guide junior engineering staff, fostering technical growth and ensuring the quality of team deliverables <\/li>
                                        • It is a condition of employment to wear company issued PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy. <\/li>
                                        • Perform other related duties as required. <\/li><\/ul>Basic Qualifications<\/strong>
                                          • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Mechatronics from an accredited college or university. <\/li>
                                          • Minimum 5 years engineering experience. <\/li>
                                          • Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance and access to DoD network and access to the AEDC local area network. <\/li>
                                          • S. Citizenship is required due to federal government contract and Air Force security mandates. <\/li><\/ul>Preferred Qualifications<\/strong>
                                            • Multi-disciplinary knowledge or experience (electrical engineering, mechatronics, control systems, etc.) is a plus <\/li>
                                            • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with flexibility to accomplish mission objectives <\/li>
                                            • Strong communication skills (including verbal and written) <\/li>
